Can you explain the triumph of ferocity art thing to me? I've seen several posts about it but I'm not sure what the original incident was.

Warning: This post may have some topics involving unpleasant concepts to some. Also, this post does contain my opinion. If that upsets you, I’m sorry.

Basically, the thing is this. When the original art for Triumph came out: image

A lot of people were upset. They honestly viewed this as a rape/sexist/misogynistic depiction of Liliana and Garruk. They thought that Garruk was overpowering Liliana, and the card was depicting a scene that was symbolic of rape. Of course, this was not at all WotC’s intent, plan, design.

It is my understanding that Magic: The Gathering is a series involving superpowered beings. And sometimes it is necessary for some of these beings to occasionally act out of sorts. We see these beings doing whatever they need to. Garruk was cursed. He was furious. He wanted revenge. And that meant that Liliana had to pay. The card is depicting Garruk getting his revenge. Why does this have to be about rape?

Look at Triumph Of Cruelty:

No one says anything about this card. That was the point of Triumph of Ferocity. To be the counterpoint of this card.

I truly believe that people are just trying to make this about something it doesn’t need to be.

But, Wizards is a good company, and they don’t want to do anything to offend their customers, so they changed the art.

While I’m glad that the company listened to complaints, I think the complaints are really unfounded and overreaching, but that’s just my opinion.

Lake View Cemetery: The Haserot Angel

It’s called the Angel of Death Victorious. Due to an effect of weathering and erosion on the bronze, the statue appears to be weeping black tears at all times.

Congratulations to Uzo Aduba and Joe Porton for scoring their first Emmy!

I was gaping the entire song this is insane

If I had a dollar for every time a musician made me feel like I’ve done nothing with my life, I’d be filthy, FILTHY rich.

Wow. Wooooooooooooooooooooooow. BLESS.

A girl at my old school did the same thing as this and holy shit I was in love with her all up through senior year

Ugh ok long time fan with that said I'm disappointed with the direction you're going in. Your not the news and posting up political stuff I can just go to CNN and view isn't very interesting, also your not posting Michael brown thug pictures that weren't leaked such as him holding a 9mm to the camera with a 40 and about $400. Also I have yet to see anything about cars such as the president of Nissan naming the fair lady Z after my fairlady. Re-analyze your content and start posting fun facts.

No. I refuse to censor my blog for you. I also refuse to post the photos of Michael Brown you mentioned, which have NO RELEVANCE and would legitimately, if nothing else, serve to further slander his name and character. I post facts, and the facts about Mike Brown’s case are not only relevant factual information, but it’s an issue which is affection people and causing debate all over the country. I am a fact and news blog, which is funny you would try to say to me “your not the news”, it’s you’re by the way. But I literally have said many times before, I post facts and sometimes breaking news. And tell me, what is supposedly such a “fun fact” about the alleged photo of Mike Brown with a 9mm, money and a 40. It isn’t fucking relevant. Unarmed teen shot to death 6 times. I covered the facts. If you’re mad that I run my blog how I choose to, unfollow me

Well said.
